Javid Jamae, a friend and proactivator in the Houston StartUp Community, asked me what my goals and motivations were. Off the top of my head, here’s what I answered:
My life/work goals are:
- To drive innovative, elegant solutions to major community-wide challenges.
- To foster collaborative engagement among diverse communities.
- To spur creative, critical thought and responsible action.
What motivates me:
- Discovering and engaging like-minded people.
- Developing positive, productive relationships with those people.
- Connecting them all with each other through mutually beneficial opportunities.
- “Growing the pie.”
What I personally want to achieve long-term:
- Develop sustainable, self-driving solutions to community-wide problems.
- Instill the thought processes and sentiment in people - and establish a proactive behavioral culture to sustain it – that it is every person’s right and responsibility to live up to their potential.
I know – I’m an idealist. But I believe that if we aim high, we can come closer to achieving our goals than if we didn’t aim at all.
These are the things that drive me. So, what drives YOU?
